Fur

Nothing exudes glamour and sophistication like wearing fur. Wearing fur doesn't have to be daunting, you can add fur in small amounts rather than with a traditional fur coat. The staple of any feminine wardrobe is the dress. Particularly in the 40's and 50's the dress was everyday wear for all women, as trousers were yet to be designed for women. The shapes designed for the 1940's and 50's woman were demure and classic. The tea dress is a common shape from the 40's that has been reproduced by most high street stores. The simple A-line shape suits all body shapes and is a great base for unusual prints. The 50's dress was more glamour led, with the style accentuating a woman's body shape. The halter necklines and full circle skirt provided the prefect rock and roll dress.
